Great Motorcycle Quotes and Wisdom!
GREAT MOTORCYCLE QUOTES AND WISDOM
Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars
to the saddle.
Life may begin at 30, but it doesn't get real interesting until about 110 mph!
You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience.. . The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.
If you wait, all that happens is that you get older.
Midnight bugs taste best.
Saddlebags can never hold everything you want, but they CAN hold everything
you need.
Never try to race an old geezer, he may have one more gear than you.
It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed.
The only good view of a thunderstorm is in
your rearview mirror.
Never be afraid to slow down.
Don't ride so late into the night that you sleep through the sunrise.
Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.
Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone.
Never hesitate to ride past the last street light at the edge of town.
Never do less than forty miles before breakfast.
If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
Respect the person who has seen the dark side of motorcycling and lived.
Young riders pick a destination and go... Old riders pick a direction and go.
A good mechanic will let you watch without charging you for it.
Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to stop for the night.
Always back your bike into the curb, and sit where you can see it.
Work to ride & ride to work.
Whatever it is, it's
better in the wind.
Two-lane blacktop isn't a highway - it's an attitude.
When you look down the road, it seems to never end -
but you better believe it does.
Winter is Nature's way of telling you to polish.
Keep your bike in good repair:
Motorcycle boots are NOT comfortable for walking.
People are like Motorcycles: each is customized a bit differently.
Sometimes, the best communication happens when you're on separate bikes.
Good coffee should be indistinguishable from 50 weight motor oil.
The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.
The twisties - not the superslabs -separate the riders from the squids.
When you're riding lead, don't spit.
A friend is someone who'll get out of bed at 2 am to drive his pickup to the
middle of nowhere to get you when you're broken down.
Catching a yellow jacket in your shirt @ 70 mph can double your vocabulary.
If you want to get somewhere
before sundown, you can't stop at every tavern.
There's something ugly about a NEW bike on a trailer.
Don't lead the pack if you don't know where you're going.
Practice wrenching on your own bike.
Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't.
Don't argue with an 18-wheeler.
Never be ashamed to unlearn an old habit.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
If you can't get it going with bungee cords and electrician' s tape, it's serious.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't be.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.
Gray-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck.
There are drunk riders. There are old riders. There are NO old, drunk riders.
Thin leather looks good in the bar, but it won't save your butt from "road rash" if you go down.
The best modifications cannot be seen from the
outside.
Always replace the cheapest parts first.
You can forget what you do for a living when your knees are in the breeze.
Patience is the ability to keep your motor idling.
Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
Keep the paint up, and the rubber down!
There are two types of people in this world, people who ride motorcycles and people who wish they could ride motorcycles.
Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.
"It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end."
Ride as if your life depended on it !!

T- Freaking
Hi guys,
Finally i got my SB 'T' yesterday! Franky the T coming all the way from India to the Middle East and a bulleteer like me freaking out is in a way truly the concept of ...No Boundaries...
-----
The Symbolic Bullet .... - i think the design should ring a bell in the mind of the person who sees it!
-----
A pal argued that maybe the wheel also should be there. But i think if a wheel is there then it is easily identifiable as a motorbike. This way probably gets the person thinking...its a bird? wings? motorbike ? Oh a ...Bullet - > Full points dude !
-----
Do you think SB T's could be available through Fashion stores sometime in future ? ;-)
-----
Im trying to see how many can identify the Bullet from the T ! It seems to strike a bell in some ..others its a quizzical look while i enjoy their expression :-)
-----
Cheers,
BT
Car wash is a bore to you ? ... Maybe you can make it interesting - check this!

1st SB UAE Meet
Would you go to Afghanistan ….. not once or twice but over 7 times in past few years ? I guess you are thinking twice ! – Well meet our new member of Silver Bullets – Jose Kaithan who’s done it officially (He wd luv to go there on a Bullet someday !)! Jose owns a RE Standard 350 in Kerala! Jose turned up with family.
Silver Bullets – First ever International meet or the Middle East chapter meet was real cool though we could not get much time. We could just have the intros done.
I traveled down 100km + from Abu Dhabi to Dubai to meet the guys. We met at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai.
Abi Mohammed, into Telecom solutions out here turned up first, with his pal Shanavas. Abi owns a RE Standard 350 in Trichur. He maintains his bike so well that without being used for a year, when he starts it, thumps to life in 5th kick! All without going to a mechanic. I guess that speaks for the Bullet’s reliability!
We talked a few things about the Bullet, gazed around at the malls. Motocity is a showroom in Dubai where RE Bullets are sold. We decided to check and confirm it by the next meeting. I had to rush back because, the guys I had come with (Chris) had to go back.
BT,Ayush,Jose,Abi
Ayush turned up late … battling the Sharjah Dubai traffic. Well after the Intros and some snaps … I had to rush.
All in all it was great meeting guys with Bullets in their minds!
Thump on,
BT
All lined up !

Independence Day Ride
Maybe I could not have asked for a better Independence day gift than touching a Royal Enfield Bullet here in UAE !
Some of you might recollect that I had seen a guy ride a RE 535 city bike and had mentioned it in my mails.
As I was strolling for dinner I heard the familiar thump of the Bullet. I turned around – Voila, RE 535 - the same guy I had seen earlier. He cruised slowly. My pal Chris said. - Go get him.
He mysteriously stopped by the side of the road. Im wondering if the RE Bullet stopped on seeing me or was showing the colors of maintenance ;-) .
I got talking to him, showed my RE T shirt…some coincidence I was wearing it at that time! His name is Ibrahim. Hes working in the Construction Industry. He had bought the Bullet secondhand.
He said theres no Bullet showroom in Abudhabi, but there a Bullet specialist mechanic called Wilson, who imports parts from India and you can ride you Bullet here !!!!! . I have his cell no.He thumped away, saying he would be leaving back to India shortly.
Well guys…… I hope I get to see some Bullets when I meet Wilson some time soon.
Happy Independence Day Guys!
I guess this was my Independence Day Ride on the Bullet. Hope you guys had a great ride too.

RE must do the Harleyway !!!!!
There are things KNOWN and things UNKNOWN ….. And between them are the DOORS – That was how the cult rock bank “The Doors” advertised themselves”
All companies yearn for their products to get a Niche market or a cult status and they know there is growth, profits and sustainability in that path.
The Royal Enfield Bullet is one of those bikes and my favorite too. But I always feel that they don’t do enough to justify and promote their Brand of motorbikes.
All of us have heard of the Harley Davidson motorbikes! I visited their showroom in the Middle East to check them out. Beyond doubt it was a great experience for me!
I do feel that Royal Enfield could pick up a few tips from them on how to promote their bikes.

It was a thrilling moment when I sat on the Harley. Comfortable it was and real solid!
I somehow felt it was easier than straddling a RE Bullet between your legs. Probably, my feeling that if you can master riding a RE Bullet with brakes left and gears right – and have enough talent to kick start it to life in one soft kick … U are the BOSS!

They Harley showroom has friendly staff and great stuff which we all would like to have.
Besides the Big bikes, you get every thing to start out on your ride – Riding gear to spares to more Harley branding stuff - T shirts, key chains, lighters, shoes ,stickers for the bikes and all this makes you feel you are in a different league.
Why cant RE do such things? Or are they hell bent on making the Bullet an antique?
To promote riding Harleys, you also get Harleys on rent at the showroom – if you can’t buy it now ….no probs, then rent it Dude!
Most buyers rent the bikes out and try them before buying a particular model – You can see to what extent HD goes to get people to ride their Harleys!
RE Guys! You too can do that…..only if you want to!
Cheers to the irreplaceable RE Thump.... Did i hear someone say potato-potato :-D

SB - UAE
It’s always a great feeling to meet someone you know especially more so when you are really far away from home and your country. This is truer especially if it’s a Bullet lover and from your own Bullet club.
For the unfamiliar, Well Ayush has been in our club prior to it being renamed as SB and he used to ride a black colored jap-crap (its also available in yellow so I guess you know which bike he was riding ;-) .
He’s been here in the Middle East(Dubai) since 2004 December, when he gave us a fly-off party at a Vellayambalam – Swiss café. The party was a memorable one…old SBians may recall Jay, Sreejith,Varghese ..and a few others.
It was great catching up with him in Sharjah. Now he really needs a Bullet for his size.
Naturally a Bullet discussion came up and he has agreed to catch the 500cc guy who has an RE in Sharjah. Its very easy also to import an RE here according to Ayush. He said he would find out details. We hope to have more dope on the RE out here.
Another things guys… Im really happy that no one is using the Bullet here to deliver pizza – and no one uses the Harley for that too ( Well we discover some common class in two classic bikes again!)
In the brief meeting we had, we thought as long as we are hanging out here we could help out any Bulleteers riding out here (slim chance probably … but you can never say!), or visiting this side of the globe – and so we launched an SB presence here.
Silver Bullets – UAE
It’s just to share our passion and joy of riding the Bullet. If you are a true Royal Enfield Bullet guy …there’s pals for you in the desert too dude.

Thrill comparison
I never really dreamt of sports cars or going for a drive in one of them.In India , riding my Bullet was a great kick and will always be.
An office farewell party in Abu dhabi gave me my first chance to get a drive in a Honda S2000 (http://wikicars.org/en/Image:S2000_first.jpg and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_S2000) with my colleague Ibrahim's car.
To describe the 20 minute drive - Well... honestly i was simply thrilled.
First of all, with the convertible top on,the total cubicle space (driver +1) was much lesser than our autorickshaw seating space in Kerala.I had to crouch so low to get in the car, that i thought my Pierre Cardin blazer would get its buttons split.
Ibrahim was using the extra seat to keep all his stuff - files, papers, pepsi etc. They could be somehow moved in to small shelf like rack.
Strapping on my seat belt,i thought - Yeah we will cruise at 50 or 60 in these city roads.Ibrahim really raced it through the city roads.Awesome power - when its first pulled out of the driveway, the seatbelt held me on.Zipping on the city streets in traffic at 150 km/hr broke the rules .... but then what are rules for ! - to b broken!!!!!
Even from 150 the car's braking power was real cool too...slows down to a stop real fast.
I have done 100 in our broad Kowdiar roads one night on my RE.That thrill was different. As we reached the destination, i said great drive Ibrahim and he said..you didn't have heart problems or didn't get frightened ..no?
I told him...no no..i do bike riding and long tours - Royal Enfield.
He replied "What bike is that ..how fast it goes ?"
I said a 500 cc crosses 140 km/hr...but its not the speed, its something else!
What...?
Well i didn't go to great lengths to explain .... the essence of an RE can only be found my owning, riding and caring for it !
Well comparing the two thrills ...you very well know which i would prefer. Excuse my details on cars...im more of a simple RE motorbike guy
Thump on
